I've always promised myself not to write blog posts for the sake of it as I feel it will affect the integrity of what I do, however I am mindful that I haven't written for a while and wanted to explain where I'm at...
Rosie hasn't done a great deal to report of late and truth be told I'm just not feeling motivated enough at the moment for a number of different reasons.
I've done a few bits of media work lately which has been fantastic exposure and a tremendous platform for illustrating to more and more people how life with Rosie really isn't all that different and certainly nothing to fear. However that has also eaten into valuable time for doing what I enjoy the most – being a Dad to my three wonderful children.
I've also read an increasing amount of Blogs, Facebook updates and twitter messages which have left me feeling a bit deflated and in some cases a tad disillusioned.
The next post may come tomorrow, it may not be until next month but I just wanted to keep you updated – I'm not going away just yet! But for now I simply want to enjoy some time with my family and regroup – a little rest and recuperation if you like.
'Friday photo' shall resume as usual for the time being over on The Future's Rosie Facebook page.
Thank you as always for all of your continued support.
Tom & Rosie xx
Glad to hear you're not going anywhere! I agree - posting for the sake of it never feels good does it. Happy to hear your media bits are going well but hope you don't get too caught up and deflated :( blogging can feel exposing sometimes and I think a thick skin is needed. You have an amazing blog and I for one really love your posts! x
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your lovely message. I'll be posting again very soon I'm sure :)
DeleteI've just come across your blog and read every single entry. I am in love with your Rosie (as is my 2 1/2 yr old Lucy!). Thank you for sharing your vulnerability, knowledge and curiosity, and love for your child, and your family. Our 4 mo old has DS and I find your posts more than helpful and encouraging...and relatable. Please take a (short) break to be with family. I'll look forward to visiting with Rosie soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely message - thank you so much. To know that someone has really benefitted from reading this blog means so much to me. Really appreciate your feedback :)
DeleteI love your blog! Your daughter is beautiful and I love the updates you give on your life together. I have a 13 year old brother with Down's and while he can be a bugger at times he's still the best person I know and wouldn't ever be without him. Wish you and your family all the best!
ReplyDeleteThank you! As odd as it may sound its great to hear that your brother is a bugger sometimes as so many people tend to think kids with DS are 'always happy, so loving' as if they never have mood swings or moments of annoyance etc. Thanks again for your message :)
DeleteGood for you, nothing better than having time to be a dad.
ReplyDeletePlus your adoring fans will no doubt still be here waiting...
Following and waiting but loving that you've got your priorities right!
ReplyDeleteI think your post have a lot of integrity. I'd say most of us realise you post when you have something to say and not just for the sake of it. Enjoy family time, it's so precious.
